TDI Intro to Tech Course
The TDI Intro to Tech course is designed for divers who want to take the first step into technical diving in a safe and progressive manner. You will learn dive planning, gas management, advanced buoyancy control, and safety techniques for deeper or more challenging environments. This course is ideal as a foundation to progress to more advanced TDI courses and to explore new underwater experiences with confidence and safety.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age: 18 years (15 with parental consent)
- SDI Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent
- Minimum of 25 logged dives
Once certified, you will be able to:
• Participate in dives using technical equipment independently, within the limits and conditions practiced during the TDI Intro to Tech course.
• Progress in your training with TDI technical courses, such as Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures, expanding your skills and knowledge in technical diving.
What you will learn:
• Selection and setup of technical equipment: single tank, double tanks, regulators, BCD/harness, computers, and thermal protection.
• Dive planning: tables, computers, air consumption calculation, and minimum gas reserve.
• Entry and exit procedures, emergency strategies, and gas management.
• Good streamlining practices and equipment configuration.
• Environmental awareness and conservation during dives.
• Pre-dive exercises and on-land drills for preparation and teamwork.
Practical skills:
• Advanced buoyancy control and trim throughout the dive.
• Propulsion techniques.
• Regulator exchange and recovery underwater.
• Mask clearing and partial or full mask removal with minimal air consumption.
