TDI Nitrox Diver Course

The TDI Nitrox Diver course is designed for divers who want to learn how to use Enriched Air (Nitrox) safely and efficiently. You will learn to plan dives with Nitrox, calculate gas reserves, perform oxygen analysis, and program dive computers. Ideal as a first step toward technical diving, this course enhances your safety, bottom time, and efficiency in deep recreational dives.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 18 years (15 with parental consent)
  • Minimum certification of SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or enrollment in an Open Water course.

Once certified, you will be able to:

  • Participate in dives using a single Nitrox gas (EAN22 to EAN40) that do not require decompression, without direct supervision.
  • Safely apply procedures for analyzing and logging EAN gases.
  • Plan and conduct dives using TDI tables or dive computers with Nitrox.
  • Enroll in subsequent technical courses: TDI Advanced Nitrox and TDI Decompression Procedures.

What you will learn:

  • History and fundamentals of Enriched Air (EANx).
  • Physiology concepts: oxygen and nitrogen in Nitrox mixes.
  • Physics concepts: pressure and partial pressures.
  • Equipment considerations and safe handling of Nitrox: O₂ content below 40% or above 40%.
  • Dive planning with EAN tables and Equivalent Air Depth (EAD).
  • Use of dive tables and computers with adjustable gas mixes and integrated O₂.
  • Advantages and risks of Nitrox.
  • Safely apply procedures for analyzing and logging EAN gases.
  • Gas mixing procedures.

Practical skills:

  • Dive planning using Nitrox.
  • Create a dive plan for Nitrox dives.
  • Proper use of the oxygen analyzer and tank labeling.
  • Programming dive computers for appropriate oxygen percentages.
  • Log the analysis of at least one Nitrox tank.

Course Duration and Price:

  • This course has a duration of 1 full day.
