TDI Advanced Nitrox Course

Prerequisites:

• Minimum age: 18 years (15 with parental consent)
• Minimum certification: TDI Nitrox Diver or equivalent.
• 25 logged open water dives.

• If combined with TDI Decompression Procedures, the minimum age is 18 years.

Once certified, you will be able to:

• Participate in diving activities using EAN mixes from 21% to 100% without direct supervision.
• Apply oxygen and nitrogen exposure limits according to your dive planning.
• Use advanced nitrox within conditions, environments, and activities similar to those practiced during training.
• Enroll in the TDI Decompression Procedures course.

What you will learn:

• Calculation of Maximum Operating Depth (MOD) and optimal gas mix.
• Advanced dive planning.
• Use of dive tables and computers with adjustable gas mixes and integrated O₂.
• Equipment considerations for mixes below and above 40% oxygen.
• Gas mixing procedures.
• Use of EAN and oxygen as decompression gases and considerations for multiple gas changes.

Practical skills:

• Proper use of the oxygen analyzer.
• Pre-dive planning with limits based on gas consumption, oxygen exposure, and nitrogen load.
• Programming the dive computer with the correct oxygen percentage.
• Conducting the dive within predetermined limits.
• Application of the START protocol before each dive.
• Advanced buoyancy control and trim throughout the dive.
• Share gas as donor and receiver while maintaining position in the water column.
• Proper execution of a safety stop with neutral buoyancy.

• Situational awareness, teamwork, and stress analysis.

• This course has a duration of 3 full days.
• If combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course, the duration is 6 days.
